Step into the Digital world with Amodo Smartphone insurance platform – video interview

In our experience, there are three cornerstones for creating new products based on telematics technology: a rich set of collected data, adequate contextualization of said data, and powerful data analytics. If all three are in place, an incredible value can be extracted from the data. Insurance companies should use data to monetize their digital channels, as well as enable new risk prevention mechanisms and fraud prediction.

Over the past few years, we have learned how powerful smartphones can be as communication channels. Targeted and customized marketing campaigns strongly increase engagement and, consequently, user conversion. This is the domain where Amodo has deep expertise and is globally recognized for. Amodo works with financial institutions (insurers, brokers and banks) of all scales and ends of the market to help them develop products fit for their end consumer and company strategy.

Learn more in a video interview with our CEO Marijan Mumdzievon how the smartphone can be a powerful tool for all insurance companies looking to step into the digital world and develop new products for the consumer of today.

P&V Group launches the first on-demand short-term insurance product in Belgium

Last month The P&V Group became one of the pioneers of the European insurance industry that uses telematics technology to create On-Demand Short-Term Insurance policy for Motorcycles.

This new type of insurance proposition for the Belgian market, called CliCover is an on-demand insurance product where the customer decides when to activate this coverage and for how long. This concept will first be applied to motorcycle damage insurance.

The idea came about from a request from people in Belgium who use their motorcycle for leisure purposes and who do not want to pay an annual premium when they only use their motorcycle for a short period of the year. The customer uses a user-friendly application enabled by Amodo’s connected insurance platform, to indicate the days on which customers wish to insure against material damage, either in advance or even the same day before taking to the road. The customer only pays for the days entered in the application.

About P&V group

P&V stands for Prevention & Precaution. The basic idea for the establishment of P&V in 1907 was solidarity with the insured and society. That motivation is still the same today. Offer fair protection to as many people as possible, and on the best terms.

Maritime Financial Group licensed Amodo’s connected mobility platform for a pioneering UBI initiative in the region

CoPiloTT is one of the first UBI programs in the Caribbean region, aiming to reduce the risk of accidents, and rewarding drivers for a positive change.

The Maritime Financial Group aims to make roads of Trinidad & Tobago safer by launching their CoPiloTT mobile application. The CopiloTT application encourages the user to be a better driver through Amodo customer engagement module. Participation in challenges and competitions might influence participants’ road safety in a positive way. Recently, a study conducted on behavior data shown how customer engagement positively influences drivers’ risk exposure. Of course, drivers are incentivized for behavior change through a discount system. Part of the value is the reduced premium, but winners can also enjoy gas vouchers and some other benefits provided by program partners.

The app collects data with a smartphone GPS sensor and measures speed, acceleration, cornering, and braking while the user is driving. Based on these parameters driving behavior is analyzed and evaluated by the Amodo scoring system, using driving context, time of day and other relevant parameters. The driver receives a detailed evaluation of his driving behavior after every journey. Every well-rated ride can lead to lower claims and consequently to a better proposition to drivers.

Porsche releases pay-how-you-drive (PHYD) cash-back concept

Usage-based insurance (UBI) also known as pay-as-you-drive (PAYD) and pay-how-you-drive (PHYD) is a model of auto insurance where policies depend upon the type of vehicle used, measured against time, distance, behavior, location and additional data.

Porsche bank gave its selected customers a chance to acquire a discount on their monthly fee while using the PHYD program. The discount and cashback are based on their improved driving skills. In the second phase, this project is expected to become available to all Porsche customers.

In late 2016., Porsche Smart Driver was launched as a pilot program by Porsche Bank on the Amodo platform. Next year it was declared as the winner of the “Kurs award” by the International Institute for Research (IIR) in Vienna.

Following this success, the program is recently updated with functionalities that are providing more direct value to its users. Based on the number of parameters, drivers can get a monetary value in the form of monthly cash-backs, based on their road safety performance. With this improvement, drivers get a very direct response and an incentive for their driving style.

Find the video by clicking here.

Smart Driver app is also available here for all those who want to benefit from their safe drivings. The app is not only reserved for insured users who want to save on their premiums, but also for those who want to test and improve their driving skills. All users of the app have the opportunity to participate in challenges and win prizes provided by program partners: gas stations and restaurants. This makes the program interesting for all drivers in Austria.

New partnership with P&V and partners in Belgium

Amodo is the technology partner of ambitious cooperation between the leading national car distributor and the insurance group in Belgium. This ecosystem developed in the mobility sector is one of the ways to monetize different value propositions for the benefit of end-users. After the cooperation with Porsche Salzburg, this is the second cooperation program between an insurer and a car distributor based on the Amodo Connected Mobility platform.

The program that runs under weCover brand offers car insurance based on driving behavior from P&V Group, and additional gifts by improving your driving style for VW Group car owners through a collaborative model with D’Ieteren Group.
